Is Better Jobs Ontario the same as Second Career?
Not exactly. Previously, Ontario offered similar support and services through the Second Career program. That program has been discontinued and is now replaced by the Better Jobs Ontario program.
How does Better Jobs Ontario help applicants?
The Better Jobs Ontario program can help applications receive financial aid to cover the costs associated with education. This can include tuition, books, and other supplies. In some cases, transportation and living costs might also be covered by the program.
Who is Better Jobs Ontario intended to benefit?
The program is primarily. intended to help people who became unemployed due to layoffs and wish to gain new skills so that they can return to the workforce sooner and more efficiently. The program also has options to help people from low income households who have had difficulties finding employment previously.
Which Courses are Eligible for Better Jobs Ontario?
The program focuses primarily on ensuring that you’re able to complete your training as soon as possible. This means that only accelerated college programs, like the ones available at CTS Canadian Career College, and which last a maximum of 52 weeks qualify for this program. The program will also need to be among those currently deemed to be high-demand.
Which Schools offer Eligible Programs?
You’ll be able to find your program at interest offered at most of Ontario’s private career colleges, CTS Canadian Career College included. Part of the reason for this is that private colleges are more likely to offer accelerated programs than public colleges, where the programs can take 2-3 times as long to complete, rendering them ineligible for the program.
